UFOs Over Canada |
"…the term 'flying saucer' was used to describe all
disk-shaped objects that were seen flashing through the
sky at fantastic speeds. Before long, reports were made of
objects other than disks, and these were also called flying
saucers. Today the words are popularly applied to anything
seen in the sky that cannot be identified as a common,
everyday object.
Thus a flying saucer can be a formation of lights, a
single light, a sphere, or any other shape; and it can be
any color. Performancewise, flying saucers can hover, go
fast or slow, go high or low, turn 90-degree corners, or
disappear almost instantaneously.
Obviously the term 'flying saucer' is misleading
when applied to objects of every conceivable shape and
performance. For this reason the military prefers the more
general, if less colourful, name: unidentified flying objects.
UFO (pronounced Yoo-foe) for short."

Edward J. Ruppelt, former head of
the United States Air Force Project Blue Book The Report On Unidentified Flying
Objects (1956) |

UFOs are, by no means, a recent
phenomena. Sightings of unusual aerial objects go back
hundreds...perhaps even thousands of years! As proof of this,
UFOs have been depicted in several historical works of
art.
Even the Bible contains certain accounts
which are very similar to some of the happenings taking place
today!
In the modern age, UFOs have been witnessed around the
world by people from all walks of life, including police officers, pilots, fire fighters, astronauts and military personnel.
UFO sighting reports filed by witnesses such as these
must be regarded as highly reliable because good observational
skills and keen eyesight are vital to the performance of their
duties.
Still, the ridicule factor has kept a larger
number of credible people from reporting their experiences
with UFOs.
But here in Canada, the sightings that do get reported
eventually make their way to Chris Rutkowski, from Ufology
Research, who puts out the annual Canadian UFO Survey.
From the information he is gathering, the statistics
seem to indicate that UFO sightings are on an increase, from
year to year!
Thus far, Canada is the only country in the world to
produce such a survey! |
